Recent news stories have reported that the U.S. failed to meet the benchmarks established by the Bush Administration for progress in Iraq.Of course, in keeping with the Administration’s penchant for constantly moving the goal line, the White House has been downplaying the news.It does cause one to wonder just how badly things are going in Iraq when even the Administration’s own goals--which no doubt set the bar as low as possible to ensure some progress could be shown--have fallen short!!
